Footpaths provide a valuable asset to the countryside and provide health benefits to the general public such as better mental health and wellbeing as well as access to remote areas previously inaccessible.
Well constructed and maintained paths can last a lifetime and can help with erosion problems.
Our construction methods involve using plant up to 6T and minimise the visual and environmental impact on the surrounding local areas.
We offer a wide variety of footpath services including upland and lowland construction and maintenance. Examples include:
· Pedestrian footpaths
· Cycle tracks
· Cross drains and water boys
· Ditches – topside, scalloped and turfed

Our robotic flail can cope with gradients of up to 50° and has the ability to cut dense grass and tall vegetation as well as mulch material up to 10” in diameter. It makes easy work of any steep slope works. It can overcome wet and steep conditions easily making the robotic flail an ideal all round tool for working on projects such as river embankments to large reservoirs and dams.
Using our robotic flail makes work more cost effective whilst at the same time increasing operative safety.
As part of our fleet of plant, we also have an 8T spider excavator which can access and work in areas that would normally be inaccessible to people and other plant. This can be utuilised for vegetation management as well as excavation and groundworks.

Wetlands are beneficial in the following ways: they help with water filtration by removing harmful metals and nitrogen associated with run-off, flooding, and erosion control and help provide specialist habitats for the likes of wading birds and other migratory birds and aquatic wildlife and fauna.
These works can be carried out alongside management fencing works such as newt and water vole fencing.
Artscape is experienced in creating and restoring wetlands across Scotland and can help you meet your project requirements.
